About Focus Web Dev

Focus Web Development is an intermediate web development course developed by the First Nations Technology Council for Indigenous innovators.  This 12-week, part time course is designed for Foundations graduates or those with basic computer operating skills, and who are passionate about pursuing a career in web development.

What You Will Learn

The Focus Web Development course is our bridging level training program designed for Indigenous students who want to deepen their knowledge of web development using JavaScript. It can also help to prepare you for our advanced Web Development programs  (link to Futures page).

Every week, students will build on their understanding of coding logic and best practices, including skills such as variables, conditionals, functions, arrays, loops, objects, and more. These daily hands-on activities will culminate into a full capstone project where students will demonstrate their skills by building a web application.
